Playful, creative, and smart, I live a joyful life. This is true in my day-time work in the public sector, and in my work outside that time as a writer. I see myself as very fortunate in that I am able to use my own privileged background in both the direct service to others, which I love, as well as in the creation of art, which I love even more. Because of conscious choices I have made, rather than my constantly reaching for the latest gadget or gismo, though I have all the basic trappings of modern life, my relatively modest lifestyle provides me the greatest luxuries of all: time and solitude. These, I think, allow me to be as alert, as receptive, as restful, as aware, as focused, and also as supportive as I can possibly be. As a consequence, very little of my energies are drawn away to the margins; I do not lead a "busy" life; rather, I live a free one.

I am drawn to people who lead purposeful, healthy, and positive lives. I am drawn to people who, like me, are truly fit and truly active. While I certainly admire erudition, I am most moved by people who are able to be open and truthful and articulate about what they are really thinking and feeling in their own words. People who really get that the time to be without masks is now (or, as I am, are genuinely striving to remove as many of them as they can, consciously) these are the people for me.
