Dear Celia05:

Your wrote, "Someone who thinks it's romantic to work on his own thing in the same room as me."

That's the catch. That's the thing. The idea of being able to do my work and you do yours in the same room is terribly romantic. It means you get each other. You feed in the quiet off the presence of each other. You do not interrupt, you do not need to constantly tap the other other on the shoulder to be validated or for validation. Just their presence does that. To be able to be that, do that, is the full moon of real romance. Who else could you possibly do it with besides someone you totally trust? No one.

As for Cormac McCarthy, let's save that one (but my answer is: it's a two-part question to begin with your presupposition that he is a great American writer. . . ; and as for American Democracy, well, that decline began with the direct election of Senators rather than their being chosen by the House.) The decline in Democracy is probably inversely proportional to the rise of advertising or mass-publicity. . .But these are just some conversations I'd love to have with you...

Trust me, I'm way unconventional, highly opinionated and fiercely analytical (thus, I can back up what I say). For instance, Slumdog Millionaire? I will declaim that movie with maximum condemnation until, even if you know how to cross the Pacific without vomiting, you'll be sick of hearing my argument! (I will, however, certainly listen to yours, intelligently).

Oh, I am ginger ADDICT. Ginger snaps. Ginger beer. Ginger tea (only from the root.) Please, yes, cook them for me! And Earl Grey, yes, with a sprig of mint! Lovely.

Long live the PLANET Pluto!
