Go on a date!

Dear Wgknyc:

Years ago now I went on a camping trip with an exgirlfriend. I felt guilty reading Kierkegaard, reading about the young girl he jilted in his skewed way of thinking, and slept with her again. She's happily married to a putz who's as bright as a nightlight now. Of course no one ever wants to hear about an ex, especially, I should say, as the first breadcrumbs to tumble out of my fingers. But, you, you are unusually smart and genuinely shameless, the latter a great virtue, the former just being the necessary chips to pull a chair up to the table, and I expect the humor will warm some membranes. I love, by the way, making smart people blush; and it's lovely, in all truth, that someone whose profile is somewhat a tortoiseshell carapace, can. Blushing is lovely; it captures the heart.
